What a cold plasma electrostatic filter does
Dirty air enters the cell. A DC field between 8 and 12 kV electrically charges the particles, including those the eye cannot see. Immediately after, oppositely charged plates attract and hold them. The air moves on, the grease stays on the plates and drains away. The cell is not replaced: it slides out, is washed and goes back in.
The cold plasma side works on odours. Ionisation breaks down a share of the volatile organic compounds the nose picks up, which is why an electrostatic unit cuts odour as well as visible smoke. Where activated carbon already sits downstream, it receives air that has already been degreased and lasts far longer.

- Premises with no roof flue, where the discharge is through the wall
- Food workshops, delicatessens, pasta makers, bakeries
- Industrial processes with oil mist and process fumes
- Air handling units already installed, by swapping the filter pack for electrostatic cells
Why it is not a filter like the others
- No filter media to buy: the cell is washed and goes back to work
- Efficiency that does not fall off with clogging, because there is no media to block
- Low, constant pressure drop, so the fan does not need redesigning
- It adds to activated carbon instead of replacing it, extending its life
- Cells in the standard frame sizes of air handling unit filtration
